A lot went wrong.

Firstly some backlog/admin to write up. After the injury in August 2022* it's been a long slow road to recovery and all of the years races were in doubt, but after cautious exercises and stretching and much frustration I still attempted the Crawley 24 in mid April following my good run last year, I'd had high hopes to be able to have a good training block coming into this and had set myself a goal.... however, with the injury I kept the goal but added a couple of fallback goals, although I still had in the back of my mind I might not be able to run the 24 hours if my ankle flared up. Goal A was 220km+ (i.e. a Spartathlon auto-qualify time - just to mentally have that although I do have a place this year), Goal B was to top 200km, and Goal C was at least cover the same distance as last year (191km). *Although I realise I haven't written about the injury here or anywhere - in brief, at the end of August I was out run/hiking in the Chilterns, I jumped down off a stile, landed ...

Disclaimer - there's no running in this post, at all, it's entirely about a keyboard. I'm currently on crutches and hoping that at some point my ankle will fix itself. (16 days. and counting)  (3months and counting)  (Update 8th Nov - still counting.. waiting for an MRI.] (4months and counting)  [Update 2nd Dec - had MRI, waiting for results) My name is My name is Ivor... and I'm a mechkonic*... [mechkonic - noun - a person suffering an addiction to mechanical keyboards]** **probably All will become clear... We have a problem I've got a  thing about keyboards. I use them a lot. I've used them for... (counts of fingers, toes, then the cats toes) approximately 43 years. So. I've used an awful lot of different types (and a lot of awful types) I do recall the Dragon32 was a particular favourite at one point. When I started off, I *did* initially use a Model M, but then forgot all about it. I've retrofitted better/decent keyboards into multiple of my Thinkpad...

Water sports...

...(i.e. Tracking water for sport, obv.) With the data reporting I was getting with my latest tracker , I had a new idea in the week before my last race... What if it was possible to also monitor, track and report fluids drunk?  I like to run with a water bladder rather than soft bottles, but it's always awkward knowing exactly how much you've had or got left. You can get a reasonable idea from the weight, or patting your bag but obviously it's not as simple as having an empty bottle in your hand. In the past I had tried to use the little Camelbak fluid display gadget... but it was pretty useless on the whole , and impossible to read the tiny display, outside, running, with bifocals on. So I had about a week... and an idea... and already had the framework with the tracker how hard could it be. I ordered a load of random stuff.... and started tinkering. Standard random internet orders, nothing to see here... I picked an  ESP32 board  for this, my idea is to use it to broad...
